Abstract:

Agriculture is the main occupation of the population of Thailand.  Compared to other fields, it generates the most income to the country. To maximize productivity, various environmental factors need to be carefully monitored and controlled.  With huge amount of resources to monitor, it is quite difficult to collect and process useful data in a timely manner.  Wireless sensor networks, therefore, have been introduced to mitigate these problems.  However, monitoring tasks usually involve collecting data from multiple areas, making it rather inconvenient to establish connectivity to each monitoring station separately.

Our goal is to ease these environmental monitoring processes by collecting data from agricultural fields into a single point, allowing users to conveniently access to the desired data.  In addition, we also developed a visualization module to display data with color shades over two dimensional maps, which is easily accessed via most web browsers.
