Abstract:
The demand for wireless network in rural area such as jungle or mountain are becoming increasing. Many application for wildlife monitoring, researching and conserving need a wireless network to provide network connectivity between embedded device or internet access to the staff and people living in the rural area. In rural area, the energy resource are limited. There aren’t any power grid, the only resource are self-generate energy or renewable energy. So energy concern is an important issue for wireless network in this area. This thesis focus on wireless mesh network deployment since location of the mesh network may affect the traffic flow path from client to it’s destination. The Router with many flow path may deplete it’s energy faster than other so we define our problem as an optimisation problem that adjust the location of the mesh router to maximise the system lifetime with the propose of Mixed integer Linear Programming (MILP) model.
