Abstract:

Nowadays, Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras become very popular due to their high performance and affordable prices. Likewise, wireless networks have been pervasively deployed. Making use of wireless network in DSLR cameras would bring new experience to users and get rid of several problems, such as difficulty in collecting photos from various DSLR cameras, small and low resolution display on cameras and inability to control camera wirelessly. We introduce a small module using an MK802 Android-based mini PC that is connected to a DSLR camera to give it wireless networking capability. An application on iPad has also been developed for picture management and camera controlling via ad hoc Wi-Fi.
