Abstract:

Expansion of wireless networking is now causing several small or medium organizations to deploy many wireless access points in order to meet user requirement.  For network administrators, managing these access points as a whole is complex and time consuming.  This project presents the Junior Wireless Controller which provides a central control point to efficiently manage all access points in the network.  The system consists of access points and a server. While specially designed using low-cost equipment, its features and performance are comparable to those high-end systems.

Experimental results show that on average the response time for configuring all access points simultaneously is less than the total time taken to configure each access point individually.  Various management statuses are also displayed correctly.  Moreover, the cost of the system is much lower than typical high-end wireless That means the proposed system can reduce both network administrators’ workload and the organization’s expense.
