Abstract:

Nowadays Wireless Lan is widely used among many organizations because of the convenience that can connect to the network without a wire and the flexibility that can use it everywhere that is a coverage area. In wireless lan network, it has an access point that transmit radio signal but radio frequency 2.4 Ghz. band has limited channel ; 3 non-overlapping channel to transmit data through wireless network. And in wireless network that usually has many access points for thorough support the usability of client is possible to have a channel interference problem that reduces effective throughput. Therefore, it is necessary to do site survey before implement and configure large wireless lan network. In former system, site survey is the task of network administrator to make careful plans before deploying. My senior project intends to develop “Automatic Channel Allocation and Transmission Power Control of Access Points in WLAN” project. This project is consists of the central server that allocate the suitable channel and transmission power for each access point in the system. The benefit of this project is operational savings that network administrator do not need to plan out the channel assignment and signal strength for every access points. Moreover the system has maintenance module that will check the status of access points in every period so that it reduces dead-spot problem. Lastly there has a web interface that network administrator can monitor and control this system.
